General Information

The unmatched Mexico City hotel established in an old-time colonial building, dating back to 1620. The Hotel de Cortes is a haven of leisure in the midst of one of the biggest towns in the world .

Formerly monk's visitor accommodations, the modern look of the inn is the result of a remodelling carried out by the Augustine Friars, which was finished in 1780.

The hotel was born in 1943 and existing installations and renovations were carried out in 2005 to organize a hotel good for the demands of today's tourists .

The hotel's public zone are currently a credible gallery, with original paintings from the colonial period, 18th century sculptures and 19th century pieces .It is believed that the structure was built at the start of the seventeenth centuty and several years later the order of Saint Augustine converted it into one of the 1st hospices in the Americas, where the order's monks were housed before embarking on missions to bring Christianity to the Philippines.

In 1780, as indicated on hotel's front, the structure was remodeled and baptized as the Hotel of Santo Tomas de Villanueva. Since then, the structure features proudly stood through every and each key moment that features marked the heritage of town.
