La Terrazza Dei Pelargoni Bed and Breakfast Ventimiglia

General Information

The Bed and Breakfast La Terrazza dei Pelargoni is located in the gothic centre of Ventimiglia, an old cross-roads and obligatory stopping point for tourists from Liguria to Provence and on the Salt Route to Piedmont. Essential memorials which characterise Ventimiglia Alta comprise the Romanesque Cathedral and church of San Michele; the church of San Giovanni; the Oratory of the Black Confraternity; the convent church of San Antonio the Abbot, in baroque style; the church of San Francesco, primarily in Gothic fashion and later converted to the baroque; the Parliament loggia a social building dating from the fifteenth C; the aristocratic palazzi in Via Garibaldi, enriched in the sixteenth and 17th C with hanging terraces a peculiar Ligurian municipal feature; the 16thC Genovese city wall that quiet almost entirely surrounds the present day historic heart, and traces of an earlier old-fashioned wall. The cottage overlooks the Roya river and enjoys a quiet and sunny situation. From the verandah you are able to adore the beach, from the mouth of the river as far as Cape Ampelio (Bordighera), and the picturesque hills which are a feature of the top Roya Valley. Clients have the use of a comprehensive living room the whole with fire-place, and of the verandah which brags a famous range of botanic pelargonium. By proir arrangement it's also possible to use the kitchen. The Calandre Beach is a short meander away: it's famous for its extremely marvellous sand and is well-known with surfies from all over Europe. Several kilometres away is the selective Balzi Rossi coast, location of the future marine reserve. You are able to stay some of the known historic terraces close to Ventimiglia: the Hanbury Botanic Gardens, Villa Boccanegra, Villa Voronoff, and you are able to appreciate the hanging terraces in Ventimiglia Alta itself. A short way away, either by auto or using fine social transportation you are able to stay the great cities and countrysides of the Cote d'Azur and the Ligurian Riviera and their hinterland: Menton, Montecarlo, Nice, Sanremo, Dolceacqua, Apricale, ...Please let us know the time you come to produce an appointment or call me approximately 10 min before arriving at the BandB. It's a personal cottage and there is not constantly somebody around.

Transportation

Leave the A10E80 motorway at the Ventimiglia exit and follow the indications for Ventimiglia for approximately 1, eight kilometers, whilst keeping the Roya river to your right. Close to the round-about you keep to the right and you cross the bridge over the Roya. Whilst crossing of the bridge keep in the left lane. As you leave the bridge turn left and then IMMEDIATELY right, into a spacious piazza, Piazza Constituente. Continue around the right of the plaza and up Via Biancheri. Nb do not go via the tunnel !. After approximately 400 m take the access ramp (Salita Colla) on your right After approximately hundred metres, at the upper of the ramp you'll be in facade of Porta Nuova, one of the arched entrances to the historic heart. You are able to garden in the parking that you'll find to your left before the lobby, or continue by auto to unload your luggage and then garden behind Porta Nizza. Approximately 50 m interior Porta Nuova, you'll see the greatly gorgeous Cathedral on your right, and Via Garibaldi to your left. We are at number 24, after approximately 100 metres, immediately after the 17thC Oratory of the Black Confraternity You go up to the third floor, door on the right.
