General Information

The farmhouse "Colle San Giorgio" is open all year round and situated at 535 meters above the sea level and proposes a prime vista from the Gran Sasso to the sea. We can offer you six double apartments (obtained by the new refurbishment of an old-time farmhouse from the 800). One room has for disabled persons. All rooms in the hotel have TV and bathroom. In our cozy dining-room, customers able to enjoy breakfast with homemade jams and local honey, biscuits and cakes and all the distinctive dishes of the conventional kitchen Abruzzese. The spot is perfect for organising trips into the hills or to the sea (both distant ± 25 Km). Also possible are montainbiking and relaxing strolls along the ancient mountain paths. You are able to enjoy a few sports like bowls, archery and troutfishing in Farindola (± 15 km). Surrounding an archeological excavation features revealed the remains of an Italic Temple: the topic of the book "Il Tempio Italico di Colle San Giorgio" by G. Iaculli. Simple to get to are enchanting historical cities like Penne, Atri and Castelli with its prominent ceramics. Also the gallery of arts and traditions in Picciano; the Natural Oasis Park at Penne; the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti Della Laga. The 30 hectares of land are cultivated strictly biologically. We also keep cows and patio animals like chickens, ducks and goats. Beyond the antique farmhouse you are able to admire a centuries-old millstone; in progress a little exhibition of objects of daily use of old traditions. We speak Italian, German and English.
