General Information

Sorrento is situated on a tuff beach and is reflected in the Gulf of Naples, captivating travellers and guests, attracted by marvelous views and sceneries. The city gives its name to the Sorrento Peninsula, a famous region stretched from Vico Equense to Massa Lubrense. This region, due to its geographical shape, suspended between greenish mountains and the blue of the seas, is from the time immemorial a superior attraction of the southern Italy. The Romans appreciated so much the beauties of this spot that during the august period it was elected an vacation destination of patricians, as quite a few bungalows witness. It was the native state of Torquato Tasso. Amongst the renowned guests of Sorrento we able to remember also Enrico Caruso, Giacomo Casanova, Scipione Breislak, Marion Crawford, Charles Dickens, Helman Melvill, Friedtich Nietzche ed Axel Munthe. This coasting city was included in the eighteenth- century amongst the major destinations of the Ground Tour, a trip amongst the plurality essential Italian towns, that was made by the foreign intellectuals who wanted to study in depth the Italian heritage, art and culture.


Transportation

Sorrento e' facilmente raggiungibile in car: - da Nord, tramite l'autostrada A1 Milano - Napoli, quindi si prosegue sulla A3 Napoli - Pompei - Salerno fino all'uscita Castellammare di Stabia - da Est tramite l'autostrada A16 Bari-Napoli, ci si immette sulla A3 Napoli - Salerno, proseguendo fino all'uscita Castellammare di Stabia - da Sud tramite l'autostrada A3 Reggio Calabria - Salerno, quind si prosegue in direzione Napoli fino all'uscita Castellammare di Stabia. In ogni caso, giunti a Castellammare di Stabia, si imbocca la panoramica S.S. 145. Sorrento dista da Napoli circa 48 chilometri e da Salerno circa 50 chilometri. - Se si arriva a Napoli con i treni delle Ferrovie dello Stato dalla Stazione Centrale di Piazza Garibaldi si possono prendere i treni della Circumvesuviana che collegano direttamente Napoli e Sorrento. I treni partono circa ogni 30 minuti e, in poco piu di un ora, permettono di arrivare a Sorrento. Scendendo alla penultima fermata ( S. Agnello ) in pochi minuti a piedi sarete da noi. Gli orari aggiornati possono essere consultati sul sito vesuviana. it - Chi arriva a Napoli in aereo ha la possibilita di usufruire di collegamenti giornalieri tramite autobus effettuati dalle autolinee Curreri. Ogni giorno varie corse collegano direttamente l'Aeroporto di Capodichino (Napoli) con la citta di Sorrento.
