The Giuggiulena Hotel, ranked as a "bed and breakfast" in the treveller literature, is a shelter carved into a rock facing a whirlpool off of the ocean on the east beach of Sicily, in the town of Siracusa. It's an almost self-contained outskirts, a clean and visually vivid oasis, where you hear only the lapping of waves from the sea, as whether you were on a solitary island in the midst of nowhere. The hotel is a small piece of paradise, a cocoon engraved interior a cliff facing the ocean. Actually, it is on the other side of a whirlpool, overlooking the historic part of the Siracusa, approximately a 15-minute stroll away.

The lodging is situated in the center in Siracusa facing the sea and one of the little marinas. It's a 15-minute stroll to Ortigia, the main historical place of Siracusa, or alternatively there is a local bus and boat amenities. Local bars, restaurants and boutiques are all within close environment. Sites of interest within the major city of Siracusa comprise the old Greek Theatre, where performances are silent staged during May & June and which forms part of a larger archeological garden. The archeological museum has the best displays of archeological remains in Sicily. The ancient cathedral situated in the center of Ortigia date from 1728, but consists of 8th century Norman artifacts. Siracusa also proposes beaches which are generally situated to the south of the town and comprise the spas of Arenella, Fontane Bianche and the preserved coastline of Vendicari. Further afield from Siracusa, but within simple driving distance are the Baroque cities of Noto, Modica, Ispica and Ragusa Ibla. The popular spas of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni are situated north of Catania, while the astonishing form of Mount Etna is easily visible from Siracusa and proposes numerous chances for excursions.
