Bordering the districts of Siena and waterside Maremma and located in a national garden the Locanda di Beppe, in the hamlet of Tocchi, is a halcyon tranquil location for admirers of great food and beautiful nature. Although only five kilometres from the major Siena - Grosseto highway Tocchi remains an unspoiled real Tuscan countryside, untouched by contemporary 'restoration'. A true step back in time. It proposes the chance to discover the Val di Merse on foot, by bicycle or even on horseback, returning in the evening to real Tuscan cordiality. The five initially equipped easy bedrooms all have privy bathrooms but neither tv or fridge- in keeping with the life of the 35 countryside dwellers. An evening walk is likely to offer an encounter with other 'locals'- porcupine, roe-deer, foxes and wild boar - all frequent the region. In the morning you'll wake to the sound of the dawn chorus or the surrounding area rooster. This is the genuine Tuscany.
