The B&B “La Canonica di Fungaia” is situated seven km. from Siena, on a hill (400 mt). Small XIII century church and untouched nature frame the historical bungalow that is encircled by a 3 hectares garden with a marvelous panorama of Siena and the lower dale. The cottage is an antique historical bungalow, the structure dates back to 1200, nicely restored on 2001 in accord with the original structure, whilst introducing each possible comfort for visitors. Tuscany taste is evident in the choice of ancient amenities and the attention in maintaining the character of the old building with its terracotta floors and beamed ceilings. There are 5 bedrooms of varying sizes every with an intimate full bath. The common districts comprise a superb sized living room; a formal Tuscan fashion breakfast room and an adorable dining room with easy access to the open-air park. The bungalow is encircled by a 3 hectares garden. There are a cute swimming pool equiped with park umbrella, deck-chairs and hammocks; a broad flowered garden; a matchless vine covered pergola for lounging; plenty of privately-owned corners for sunbathing and taking in the vistas. Immediately behind, our dear guests able to enjoy tourism, mountain biking and horseback riding. Surrounding there are a few horse stables. “La Canonica di Fungaia” is only seven km. from Siena, Monteriggioni and Chiantigiana highway, just three of the plenty of local sights a short way away. The proprietors know all the special restaurants and will suggest fine day trips whether you need assistance: less than one hour away there are Firenze, San Gimignano, Volterra, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and plenty of others fascinating sights.
