The interiors, on the other hand, have been re-equipped according to the precepts of up-to-date design, with minimalist lines and sober colours creating an elegance that is offset by several cautiously chosen period pieces. The marvellously tranquil apartments, facing the captivating Piazza Scuole Pie, are all located on the ground floor of Palazzo Cicala: they possess high arched ceilings decorated by wealthy stucco business and decorations and collection in size from 30 to 40 piazza meters. All of our rooms have a privately-owned bathroom.

Le cantine Squarciafico The restaurant is located right below the hotel. It consists 2 vast and luxurious apartments characterised by arched ceilings, floors in slate and marble, and a double row of antique columns topped by late gothic capitals. The food, inspired by regional custom, has been revisited according to dictates of Italian high cuisine, and is based on cautiously selected ingredients of first-rate quality. The peculiarities of the cottage are: fresh home-made pasta (mandilli with pesto), savoury pies, fish (stockfish, "cappon magro" – a fish and vegetable salad) and its outstanding chocolate cake.

The hotel is strategically set for travellers and work customers to Genoa alike. In fact, Locanda di Palazzo Cicala is in the centre of the historic center of the city, opposite to the Duomo. The hotel gives onto the sixteenth-century Piazza San Lorenzo, which is just a short stroll away from Palazzo Ducale and the Old Harbour, where customers may visit the Aquarium or depart on boat tours to the lovely cities in the Eastern Riviera, such as Camogli or Portofino.

Please take these instructions with you: the main historical place of Genoa is pleasing but auto unfriendly. Leave the road at Genova Ovest and take the sopraelevata (raised road) towards centro città (city centre). Follow it until the 2nd exit on the right, indicated as PrefetturaLeaving the elevated highway you'll find the City Park parking place, where you may leave your auto. Getting out of the City Park by foot, you'll end up in Piazza Dante, then take the avenue on your left to get to Piazza de Ferrari and then on the left again to Piazza Matteotti. Now follow the boulevard in facade of you, by means of San Lorenzo, till you get to the Cathedral. The hotel is situated at the ground floor of the building in facade of the Cathedral, close to a furniture boutique named G. Oliva. It's also possible to get to the hotel by auto. Once out of the elevated highway, follow the gallery and you'll end up in by means of Vernazza. Go direct on till it bends leftwards and you'll see in facade of you a roomy piazza with a fountain in the middle, which is P. zza De Ferrari. Going on after the traffic light you'll see a narrow highway with some motorbikes parked, which is by means of Petrarca. Take this boulevard and turn right and you'll be in square Matteotti. Go direct and you'll see a commodious boulevard which is Via S. Lorenzo and is a strolling district, strictly prohibited for autos. So turn right in by means of Tommaso Reggio and go on till it crosses Via di Scurreria, then go direct on until Piazza Invrea where you are able to garden for few mins. The hotel is situated at the ground floor of the building in facade of the Cathedral, close to a furniture boutique named G. Oliva.
