General Information

Dear tourists ...For an authentic taste of Tuscany and the bella vita in a trustworthy XIVth century setting, stay us at the Fattoria Bassetto. We are situated in Certaldo, right in the middle of Tuscany, a captivating area of plantations of grapevines, olive trees and old-fashioned cities. Our family home was formerly a convent of Benedictine monks that was everytime open to pilgrims passing through. Most freshly it was a working farm producing local wine and oil. In 1998 we opened Fattoria Bassetto again to tourists with the same idea of cordiality as the monks centuries ago and with ideas based on what we saw in guesthouses overseas during our own travels. We wanted our guesthouse to be special in conditions of setting and tranquil location, a site you would want to return to at night and somewhere to unwind from town tours. Meander through sceneries sculpted by sunflowers, rolling mountains and farms on foot, bicycle, horseback or mini-van. Or day tour by mass transport to taste the splendours of Florence, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and other cities which are less than an hour away. You are able to try your hand in the communal kitchen with Tuscan recipes from our cooking classes, specimen local wines in our cantina (wine cellar), or do small more than put your feet up by the swimming pool and appreciate the vistas and Tuscan life. There is something for every person here.
