General Information

Gajner Palace, part of HRH Group of Hotels is an incomparable jewel in the Thar Desert. Built by H.H. Maharaja Sir Ganga Singhji of Bikaner on the embankment of a lake, Gajner Palace is around 30 km from the town of Bikaner. Spread over 6000 acres, the Palace was used as a hunting resort by the preceding Maharajas and visiting British dignitaries during the days of the Raj. Some of the dignitaries who have visited the castle for the shoots were - Governor General Lord Elgin, Lord Mountbatten Viceroy of India, Prince of Wales (1905) and Lord Erwin (1927). The Palace features a personal wildlife sanctuary, next to the astonishing castle and is home to endangered antelopes like the chinkara, black buck, neelgai and other animals. The sanctuary and the lake attract more than a hundred species of migratory birds during the winter months. Vitally located in the residential region and close to the primary treveller sights of the town like the Junagarh fort, this palatial history escape is constructed in a dainty art deco fashion that consists Doric pillars, ornamental staircases and commodious windows, which testify an aesthetic brilliance of the past. There are ten Art deco apartments and 2 regular apartments to pick from. Gajner Palace is divided into 4 characteristic wings: Dungar Niwas, Mandir Chowk, Gulab Niwas and Champa Niwas. The hotels eleven historic apartments are in Dungar Niwas; these apartments were originally used by British dignitaries during their recreation trips to the Palace. Further to, the Palace Hotel proposes thirty-one luxurious suites that form part of Gulab Niwas (used by glamorous railway officers in the past), Champa Niwas (the recently constructed section features a charming patio with suites all around it) and Mandir Chowk (was part of the reception for dignitaries arriving by train and dominated by the presence of an antique temple and age antique Banyan trees). Every apartment features been meticulously renewed to its original grandeur. Each detail, from the furniture to the wallpaper, the four-poster bed. The hotel can propose the facilities like Dry cleaning, Lobby, Reception and Squash court.


Dining Information

The lakeside restaurant Mirage was once called Ganga Bhawan (named after His Highness of Bikaner), recreates the grandeur of royal dining with high ceilings; gold framed magnificent mirrors, intricately crafted fireplaces and forest flooring. This multi cuisine restaurant is open throughout the day and serves a la carte meals and lunches.
