The cottage was primarily built as manor house in 1536. Later in 1704 it was converted into a little brewery. It controlled to retreat being ravaged during the Thirty Years War and also survived the Second World War without damage. Then, in 1984, this historical monument was reconstructed genuine to its original plan and turned into a little hotel. Every apartment now has its own bath and toilet, phone, TV and mini brasserie. Its name "Spitzweg" recalls the outstanding painter of the romantic era, Carl Spitzweg, who once lived here in Rothenburg. Those who are fond of the romantic idyll will certainly find things to their taste here! Non-smoking Hotel.
Travel information
Take the exit for Rothenburg. Follow the signs in the direction of "Stadtmitte". At the traffic lights at "Hotel Linde" turn left. Go direct through the antique town gate "Galgentor" (tower). Keep going direct by means of "Galgengasse". Go through the next citadel. Immediately after the stronghold turn left onto "Milchmarkt". Go direct. At the end of the highway turn left. Go direct and after the next fountain turn left again. The hotel is located an the right hand side of the boulevard.
