The hotel's architecture is intrinsically Mediterranean in fashion: Le Maquis, from the Corsican "macchia", is a small encampment of white, shuttered, terracotta tile-roofed pavilions with crenellated buildings in the Corsican fashion of Genoese towers and citadels. Cool white-washed stone walls, wooden shutters, terracotta floors, wooden beams in the ceilings, Le Maquis is distinctively supplied to a high standard, much of the furniture is local ancient, and features a exquisite country-house ambiance. Framed photographs, paintings, arranged bunchs of flowers, lamps and other ornaments complement the rural, homey feel.

* 04 January 2004 to 16 February 2004 - Hotel closed during season. The inn is situated at the edge of the Ajaccio's bay, right on the sea facade. On the opposite of Ajaccio. The inn is exactly at the end of the seashore resort of orticcio. 20-30 mins strolling or five mins driving from the central district of Porticcio (restaurants, bars, night clubs, shops).

The famous gastronomic restaurant is offering Mediterranean-style cuisine with a Corsican touch. Catered either indoors in the cute rustic-style or on the ensuite alfresco dining balcony with its poolside shady tables facing the sea.

Le Maquis is situated on the southwest beach of Corsica and more precisely on the southern banks of the Ajaccio Bay, justo in front of the Sanguinaires Islands that marks the lobby to the Gulf.
