By leaving the waterside district, you will find the countrysides of the village: Sare, Ascain, Aïnhoa, Espelette....You will see there some lively houses standing for the historical significance of houses to the Basque persons. Tourist's sites - the Thune mount (accessible by a tourism path or by a small traveller's train). - the Sare caves (lightened up by highly up-to-date lighting techniques). - the pine wood with monkeys in Labenne will please kids (and parents too !). In the neighbouring town, Bayonne, you are able to wander under the archways (hosting majestic boutiques with wooden facades) or the bank of the river Nive. You'll also see there outstanding buildings, amongst which the Sainte-Marie cathedral and its closter. Eventually, you are able to visit two museums - opened all year round: that of the Basque heritage and that of Léon Bonnat). Further on the coastline, you'll come accross the town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz (nice preserved creek and shopping streets), and Hendaye and its coast. You're now at the Spanish border. Don't hesitate and go further on till the vast town of San Sebastian (50km away from Biarriz), a party-oriented town which embraces one of Europe's most good gulf.
