General Information

Viru Backpackers features an excellent serene location on Tallinn's major Old Town st. Viru (which means Estonia in Finnish is a tiny cosy site and mostly good for those who wish it a bit more tranquil and relaxed. The hostel holds mainly privately-owned apartments, sized from singles until four bed suites. Several of them have a famous vista facing the buzzling Viru st. Eccentric paintings, made by an Estonian artist, and nostalgic Soviet posters add to the character of the hostel. Whether you like the notion of having a bit more solitude, but simultaneously you want some hostel action too: no worries, you're welcome at Tallinn Backpackers to hang out and party there, or to use the independent sauna. It is just several minutes stroll between both buildings and you are able to ask the personnel in Viru to produce a call in good time to heat the sauna up for you before you reach the Tallinn Backpackers building. Viru Backpackers features in entire seven apartments which able to accommodate in entire 17 people. There are two singles, a double, a twin, two triples and a four bed suite. We have a flexible allocation system that gives you the opportunity to book the triple and four bed apartments as twins and doubles as well. Depending on the season, some apartments might function as dorms. All suites are decorated and the beds are ready with linen and a The-Kitchen-in-Viru-Backpackerstowel. You will receive your own set of keys to your suite and the structure allowing for 24 hour access. There is a current district where you are able to watch TV and DVD's, or meet up with the other visitors. For those who would like to prepare their own food, we have a little but fully furnished kitchen.


Transportation

Our Backpackers is situated on Viru avenue, the central street in city. So whether you receive lost you are able to constantly ask around, but you are able to hardly miss it. We are situated on Viru five, above the Salamander shoe boutique. We have a sign hanging outside on the gate, also the lobby to a tattoo boutique. Ring bell nr. two, take the 1st door on your left and stroll to the 3rd floor. Whether you decide to take a taxi (call +372 6380000 for the cheapest one), ask them to drop you off at the Hesburger at flower market place, just opposite the Viru Gates (cars can't go further). From the Airport: Take bus number two to the A. Laikmaa stop at the Viru shopping area and amble from there to the Old Town. You'll discover a little flower market place: stroll there via the Viru Gates and you'll end up in Viru st. From the Bus Station: Take bus 17 or 23 to Vabaduse Valjak, the bus stop at a spacious piazza. Cross the car park and stroll into Harju avenue. Turn at the treveller office to the right into Kuninga boulevard, pass the Olde Hansa restaurant and you end up in Viru boulevard. From the Harbour: Walk from the port in the direction of the Old Town: take a left into Mere st until the roundabout. Take a right there via the Viru Gates and you'll end up in Viru st. Otherwise cross the boulevard from the port to Uus st and on the end of that a right into Viru avenue.
