America is the home of the milky coffee a trend that is spreading round the world to the extent that a cappuccino or latte has become more of a coffee flavoured milk shake than a coffee drink. What to do when you desire a strong European style coffee? In Starbucks you need to ask for the non menu listed item the Short. This is half the size of the ’smallest’ size they proclaim they do, the Tall, and has the same amount of espresso but with half the milk. To make it even better ask for the dry variant which substitutes more foam than milk. So a Starbucks dry short cappuccino is actually a pretty decent cappuccino, and adding an extra shot to it makes it far more tasty. A short drink is also the cheapest they do so a tastier coffee at a lower price, hooray for capitalism.
