Location Information

The Hotel Amadeus is situated in a tranquil alley two hundred meters from St. Stephen s Cathedral in the heart of Vienna. In this historic region the Roman camp Vindobona (from which Vienna takes its name) was to be found some 2000 years ago. On the property of the present hotel the fabulous inn "Zum Roten Igel" was constructed in the early 19th century. It became known as a meeting site of prominent artists and musicians, amongst them Franz Schubert, Moritz von Schwind, Johannes Brahms and Alexander Girardi.
