General Information

Tropical Retreat. Self-contained, air-conditioned, BandB villas on an alluring 30-acre property close to Daintree National Park. The ideal hideaway for honeymooners, birdwatchers, nature-lovers or for recreation interlude during a busy vacation schedule. Eight kilometres behind Daintree Village, at the end of a panoramic dale trail lies this silent harbor, alive with tropical birds and butterflies and filled with tropical terraces, rainforest, tropical fruit trees and simple strolling tracks. Every villa features a personal terrace facing the wetlands-dam, tropical terraces and rainforest and features either a Queen-size or KingTwin Bed plus convertible sofa for one additional adult - kindly note there are no service for kids under 12. There is an adjacent with vast shower, microwave, electric cooktop, fridge and all cooking utensils and the villas are air-conditioned, have a ceiling fan and are fully insect-screened. No passing traffic, TVs or radios - and your mobile telephone will only business in Daintree Village, 8km away. The matchless sound you'll hear will be bird calls! A complimentary daily breakfast basket is provided and consists of a platter of tropical fruits, some home-grown in season, fruit juice, cereals, home-made jams and yoghurt, locally-grown freshly-ground savoury coffee and Daintree tea. Bring your own supplies and have dinner at home in your cabin or on the barbeque in the historic ancient open shed - perhaps have a soak in the jacuzzi whilst you chef your dinner! Self-cook meals and drinks are also accessible. There are a few restaurants in and around Daintree Village. Far from the madding crowd yet convenient for all the good region's activities - 10 min to Daintree Village, 20 min to vivid Wonga Beach - Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas and the Cairns Highlands are all within a 1-2 hour drive. Your resident hosts, Peter and Daphne, are constantly obtainable to assist with local data, and bookings whether indispensable, but the emphasis is upon your comfort and solitude.


Transportation

From Cairns drive north through Mossman to Daintree Village (do not turn right to the Daintree River ferry). Then follow the blue signs for 8km along winding, scenic Stewart Creek Road - unsealed but gazetted and well-maintained and is reachable by normal sedan. The lively drive from Cairns takes approximately two hours.
