Cradle Mountain Highlanders proposes lonely cabin lodging on the edge of Cradle Mountain National Park. There are twelve self-contained cabins nestled in temperate rainforest on the ten acre property which enjoys vistas of Cradle Mountain. Cradle Mountain Highlanders is 2 min drive from the entrance hall to Cradle Mountain National Park and two hundreds meters from the Cradle Information Centre and Shuttle Bus Terminal. If you're traveling with family or friends, on your honeymoon or just searching for a particular site to elude and unwind on a short break visit, there is a cabin here to suit you. The cabins are self-contained and self-catering, some built just for 2, others sleeping up to six. 10 of the cabins have log fires, and 3 have thermal baths, all are well-equipped and full of rural mountain spell. With wildlife at your door, alpine rainforest all around and a rural mountain cabin to call home, you'll truly feel near nature when you produce Cradle Mountain Highlanders your base for exploration the World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The cabins are all hand built in a conventional mountain fashion and feature prime natural timbers interior and out. Every cabin features its own specific character, but they all have fully furnished kitchens, privately-owned decks or verandas, tv, clock radio, electric blankets, hair dryers and pure Tasmanian mountain water on tap. 10 of the cabins have romantic log fires and 3 cabins have thermal baths. Some of the cabins are built just for two; others able to sleep up to six.

Quickest routes to Cradle Mountain: Devonport by means of Sheffield - 1. 25 hours Burnie by means of B18and 132 roads - 1. five hours Launceston by means of A1 road and Sheffield - two hours Launceston by means of A1 road and Mole Creek - two. five hours Hobart by means of Launceston and Sheffield - four. five hours Hobart by means of Queenstown - 6 hours The above routes are mainly on arterial roads. Whether you have the time, Tasmania features lots of fascinating small cities which have now been by-passed by these roads. The lobby to Cradle Mountain Highlanders is 1. five kilometers before the entrance hall to Cradle Mountain National Park on the 132 road. The cottages cannot be seen from the roadside; only a hand carved sign saying 'HIGHLANDERS' is located on the right hand side of the highway just past Cradle Information Centre (Shuttle bus terminus) and cafe bistro which is on your left. Drive up the laneway and you'll find reception desk.
