General Information

In ancient Castilian, CANDONGA means Old Mule or Heavy Mule, referring to the animals that in the 1700s crossed the hills loaded with goods, following the King’s Highway to the Upper Peru. The Chapel was constructed in 1730 and was consecrated to our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Candonga is at the greatly core of the path that keeps the architectural testimonies of the Jesuit Enterprise. In 1941 Candonga’s Chapel was declared Historic National Monument by decree N°90732 and, in December 2000, UNESCO named the Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba a World Heritage Site. The treveller project responds to the relationship between the human being, his habitat and beautiful nature. All of the rooms come into panorama from mother earth; its’ walls made of brick and stone harmoniously shape themselves with the ambience and build the space that naturally and peacefully shelters its’ customers. Candonga Lodging is a rustic project, situated 1, 000 metres above sea level, respectful of the outskirts, that combines tranquillity and easiness, cultural and musical park amusements (the latter performed with our GAVEAU magnificent piano), ecotourism and adventure; this is the spot where clients able to interact with a raw nature, not arranged or manipulated by man in any way, independent of agrochemicals, encircled by crystal waters, by both native plant and animal lives and by lots of pure and uncontaminated energy. Baskets full of crusty loaves of bread, grandmother’s fashion scons (argentine muffins), jams made from our fruit-trees and airy milk from our dairy will wake you up every day in the morning. Because all of these are pure truths pouring from our hearts, we do wait for your arrival together with family or friends, whilst we continue to design the ambience full of details and pleasure that will insure your visit to be the best experiences ever lived.
